Eastern Senegal or ecotourism paradise is certainly one of the African destinations that offer you the most surprises. A world of legendary beauty, an ideal destination for adventure seekers and outdoor experiences. Safari in the Niokolo-Koba National Park will be our main goal. Located about 600 km south of Dakar, the Niokolo-Koba National Park was created in 1926 as a wildlife reserve and became a national park in 1954. The National Park extends over 900 000 hectares and is home to a large number of animal species such as elephants, lions, buffaloes, panthers, monkeys, many antelope species, hippos, crocodiles, warthogs as well as nearly 400 species of birds.
The region is populated mainly by Peulhs, Mandingues (Malinkés, Bambara, Socés) and Bassaris, Coniaguis or Tendas-Bediks. Our second step will be the discovery of the Saloum. It is a well preserved hybrid territory, tinged with undeniable magic and ranked among the most beautiful bays in the world. The landscapes are sublime, with pure air, peace is total and Sine Saloum is classified World Heritage of Unesco. Steeped in history and culture the visitor will feel comfortable browsing the Bolongs Palmarin with particularity the discovery of salt wells multicolored. We will end our stay with unique spots lined with baobabs in a multitude of Kitesurf bays Saloum Islands.

Day 1: Hexagone – Saly

– Transfer to the hotel in Saly about 27 km of road, arrival, installation at the hotel, dinner and overnight

Day 2: Saly – Tambacounda (386 km)

Breakfast and departure for Tambacounda, a long expedition with the possibility of stops for lunch, photos shooting and meeting with people in the villages, arrival, check-in at the hotel, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Tambacounda - Niokolo-Koba National Park (70 km)

Breakfast, city tour, and visit of the Niokolo-Koba National Park, arrival and installation at the Wassadougou camp along the Gambia River, partial visit of the park, dinner and overnight at the camp.

Days 4, 5: Niokolo-Koba National Park

We will spend two days of intense tracking activities in the park to discover the richness of wildlife. The park is home to elephants, lions, buffaloes, panthers, monkeys, many antelopes, hippos, crocodiles and warthogs and nearly 400 species of birds, lunches, dinners and nights at the camp.

Day 6: Niokolo-Koba National Park – Kedougou (173 km)

Breakfast, departure for Kedougou, discovery of the impressive Dindefelo Waterfalls which are located 30 km from Kedougou. They are located in the heart of lush vegetation and have their source at 318 m altitude at the Mount Dandé. Hike to the Waterfalls, picnic, return in the evening to Kedougou, installation, Dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Kedougou – Tambacounda (234 km)

Breakfast, visit of some surrounding villages of the Bedik ethnic, lunch, departure for Tambacounda, arrival, installation at the hotel, relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Tambacounda – Kaolack – Toubacouta (348 km)

Breakfast and departure for Toubakouta via Kaolack, lunch in Kaolack, visit of the largest market in Senegal, meeting with the population, continuation of the trip, arrival, installation at the hotel, dinner and overnight.
 

Day 9: The Delta Saloum

Breakfast, departure for a cruise, navigation on the arms of the river commonly called “Bolongs”, observation of the living fauna in the middle of the intertwined roots of the mangroves (storks, cormorants, white egrets …), then initiation to the fishing to the palangrotte, return to the hotel for lunch, departure in the afternoon for the city of Missirah (20 km road), with its nice fishing port, its gigantic cheese trees and the epic atmosphere of women who process seafood (traditional fish drying method), crossing with a vehicle of the Fathala forest populated with monkeys, warthogs and thousands of birds. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Saloum – Saly – Diass (205 km)

Breakfast and departure for Saly, the main seaside resort of the country, on the road we will visit the weekly market of Passi, lunch in Saly, evaluation of the circuit then transfer to the international airport Blaise Diagne. – End of the tour
